Client Problem

Ethical Power, an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) business in the UK, engaged Argand Solutions to solve their problem of delivering a G99 compliant control interface solution for their multi-MegaWatt (type C) solar PV installation.

Apart from the usual requirements for active network management interfaces, constraint panel interfaces and digital I/O, the system also required a fault recording and power quality (FR&PQM) monitoring device that met all of the required G99 standards.

Most FR&PQM devices available do not meet the existing G99 standard which needs some very unique requirements to be met. Most solutions in the market do not meet this specifications. Without a suitable FR&PQM device the project would be put at risk.

Argand’s Solution

Argand provided as single system that provided the following:

  • fault recording

  • power quality monitoring

  • Constraints panel interface

  • Active Network Management (ANM) interface

  • BoP Monitoring

The system was designed, built and supplied by Argand.

Client Benefits

The solution was provided within a single unit, making it easy to install => providing one solution to solve all of the problems / functions, and met the DNO’s stringent requirements such that it was passed by the DNO witness test.

In addition, Argand provide reporting services to the client such that any DNO request for data is managed and provided by Argand => removing the client’s risk from this element.
